“I cannot tell you how much fun we all had at the Denver Academy event Saturday night. Fred again was fantastic! The school just loves him!"

About the Maestro, Frederick L. Lewis.

Frederick Lewis has been a professional DJ and Master of ceremonies in Denver and throughout Colorado and surrounding areas for over a decade and shows no signs of slowing. He quickly discovered that it was an area in which he could excel when his first wedding reception at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, in the year 2000 was a smashing success. Since that time he has appeared as a DJ in over a thousand events of different types and sizes in such diverse Colorado locations as The Invesco Field, The Boulder Theatre, DCPA, Vail, Aspen, and Steamboat Springs, as well as traveling to Los Angeles, Portland, Las Vegas, San Diego, Minneapolis, and the list goes on. He enjoys connecting with people and is known for his ability to "read the crowd," to deliver the right music at the right time.

While he was attending Missouri State University, the elements that would lead him to a successful career as a DJ were already germinating. His stage presence was being molded by the likes of Howard Orms and Dr. John McElhaney, who had received their advanced education from Yale and Northwestern University, respectively. It was the same faculty who had instructed John Goodman and Kathleen Turner, among other luminaries of the stage and screen. He devoted much of his time to acting classes and studied rigorously for lead roles in plays by Shepherd, Coward, Shanley, and Ibsen. He went on to act professionally, appearing in Titus Andronicus at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in 2002. It is said that his background in acting has given him a natural delivery and confidence on the microphone without sounding "cheesy."

As his acting studies were ongoing, Mr. Lewis was exhibiting a love for music, sound, and the accompanying technologies. He was often found in the sound booth when not on stage, delivering sound effects and recorded music right on cue to be seamless components of theatrical productions. He would stay up late into the night putting sounds together for class projects, or plays for which he was the sound designer.
He played guitar and sang in university productions and local bands and became well known locally for his songwriting. When a band with which he was lead singer and lyricist completed a regional tour and wanted to record an album, Frederick put together a digital studio and recorded other local bands to help pay for it. Today his impeccable timing, attention to detail, and exacting standards of sound quality can be attributed to these earlier pursuits. His knowledge of rhythm and harmony has led him to elite technical skill as a DJ.
